A New Year at Cape Fear Collectibles: Building a Stronger Community

As we move into a new year, I wanted to take a moment to talk directly to our local community and share what’s ahead for Cape Fear Collectibles.

First and foremost, Cape Fear Collectibles is a local game store. Everything we do is built around supporting and growing our local player base—whether that’s through in-store play, events, singles, sealed product, or just being a place people enjoy spending time. That focus isn’t changing. In fact, it’s becoming even more intentional this year.

Strengthening Our Community Connections

One of our biggest goals for the new year is to make it easier for our community to stay connected—both inside and outside the store.

We’re actively upgrading our website to better support our players and customers. This means clearer product listings, better organization, and improved communication around inventory, events, and announcements. The website should be a useful extension of the store, not just a storefront.

At the same time, we’re continuing to invest in our Discord server as a central hub for the community. Discord allows us to share real-time updates, post event information, answer questions quickly, and—most importantly—give players a place to talk, coordinate games, and stay involved even when they’re not physically in the shop.

A Focus on the Local Experience

This year is not about chasing trends or trying to be everything to everyone online. Our priority is the local experience:

  • Supporting in-store play and events

  • Making information easier to access

  • Creating consistent, reliable communication

  • Building a welcoming environment for new and existing players

The stronger our local community is, the stronger Cape Fear Collectibles is.

Thank You

I want to sincerely thank everyone who supports the store—whether you come in weekly, jump into discussions on Discord, or just stop by when you can. Your support is what allows us to keep improving and growing in the right direction.

We’re looking forward to a productive, community-focused year ahead, and I’m excited to continue building something solid here in Cape Fear.
